One of my biggest worries about moving our family to Oregon last year was transitioning my business up here! I've worked so hard and made so many connections in the wedding industry in Arizona and leaving it terrified me. Since I was still traveling back and forth between states for work, trying to get our family settled in Portland and growing a baby I hadn't put much effort into my business in OR but now that I'm done traveling for awhile I figured now was the time to start!
A huge part of the wedding industry in Arizona is the idea of "Community over Competition" and supporting our creative community as a whole. My first impressions of the Portland wedding community wasn't as welcoming which made me incredibly sad! But thankfully as I've began putting some effort into getting connected here I'm finding that just isn't true! I attended my first Oregon styled shoot and was completely blown away! This was a free styled shoot that some incredible vendors put together and invited photographers to come and shoot away. They donated their time, talent and materials simply to create something beautiful for photographers to come and photograph for their own portfolio and to provide the vendors with great content. And it was JAW DROPPING. I signed up for the last time slot of the day so I only had a few minutes to grab some shots but I'm so happy with what I was able to capture and am excited to share these with all of the vendors!
Thank you so much to the talented vendors who made this shoot so dreamy!
